EXCELLENCE IN MINISTRY PROGRAM

Are you part of the Northwest Ohio Association’s Excellence in Ministry Program?

Beginning its fifth year, there are about fifty pastors who are participating in eight different clergy-facilitated groups that meet once a month across our region. The mission of this program, according to the Pastoral Excellence Network is “Dedicated to strengthening and sustaining excellent pastoral leaders for a lifetime of creative and effective service to the church.”

Facilitators are re-gathering groups and welcoming new members. The cost to participate for the year, September through August is $250.00. Payment will be due by October 15th.  Many churches have seen the value of strengthening and sustaining their pastor and have been very supportive.

A Clergy-Facilitator is the host of each group. Through collaboration, they define and create a safe, supportive, worshipful, learning environment.   Ed Heilman, one of the facilitators writes: “God willing, the Excellence in Ministry circle will be a feast of friendship, faithfulness, encouragement, and repair for every minister who participates. The Excellence in Ministry program is about facilitating a lifetime of faith-filled vitality in ministry.”

Please consider making a commitment to participate in a Community of Practice by completing the application linked below.

STEWARDSHIP AND CARING MINISTRY TEAM

Welcome to the Stewardship and Caring Team electronic resource file. Included in this file are event presentations and effective resources for Stewardship. the first additions are of two power point presentations from our Feb. 10 Stewardship event. One on how to re-purpose one’s building for more effective stewarding of resources, and another general (without script) slide show that, although requiring some interpretation, provides useful images for asking/demonstrating stewardship and demographic realities. They may be used for NWOA local church presentations as long as they are cited with credit to their creators. The third presentation is a recap of small group work at the Feb. 10 Stewardship event in NWOA that focused persons on thinking about what is currently working in their local churches as well as some dreams for their local churches. Good for some visioning for your own church.

Power Point Presentations

1. Re-purposing Your Building for Revitalized Ministry

2. Year Round Stewardship

3. Poster Scan – Presentation March 10th

Materials are used with permission & point point presentations are for the use of NWOA churches only, without permission from authors.

Is your congregation a 5 for 5 church?

Over 1,200 UCC Churches are already a 5 for 5 church. Encourage your church through stewardship education to be a church in mission by becoming a 5 for 5 church.
