Rev. Daniel Busch preached at First UCC in Knoxville last Sunday January 6, and will be preaching this Sunday January 13th at St. Paul’s UCC in Toledo beginning at 10:30 am. Rev. Busch will also participate in the Ordination Celebration for Sandra Good Bricker Sunday afternoon beginning at 4:00 pm. Sandra will be ordained at First UCC in Marblehead.
Prayer Requests
Please keep the family of Rev. Cliff Farmer in your prayers. Cliff and Wilma’s son Chris has been diagnosed with cancer. Chris is home and will begin chemo and radiation soon.
Our deepest sympathy to the family of Bill and Shirley Bradish. Bill’s sister passed away. Keep this family in your prayers.
Received the news on December 13th about the death of Dr. Charles “Chuck” Lee Burns. Dr. Burns was the Conference Minister of the Florida Conference from 1973-1995. His legacy and impact on the life of the members and congregations in the Florida Conference is enormous. Chuck was the Ohio Conference minister just before he went to Florida, he will be remembered by a lot of folks.. Our Sympathy to the family.
Mary Maurer, St. Marys had a stroke and is at the Otterbein Assisted Living in St.Marys at this time but hopes to be going home soon. Please keep Mary in your prayers.
Please keep Rev. David Williams, First UCC in New Knoxville in your prayers as he recovers from knee surgery.
Ruth Whitten’s father, Kenneth Lugenbill had surgery and is back in the hospital trying to handle the pain and fight infection. Please pray for strength as Kenneth and his family cope with this recovery time. Ruth is a student in lay school.

NOTICE CHANGE IN DATE: Rev. Mary Curtis will be installed as Chaplain at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, OH on February 3, 2008 beginning at 6:00 pm.
Sandra Goode Bricker will be ordained, this Sunday, January 13, 2008 at First UCC in Marblehead beginning at 4:00 pm, with a supper/reception to follow. "In order to plan for the supper reception afterwards, please call the Marblehead church and leave a message indicating the number of persons planning to attend the supper reception (419-798-4612); or e-mail a response to sgbricker@yahoo.com ."
The installation of the Pastor Jeff Cobb at St. Peter’s UCC, Millbury will be January 20, 2008 at 1:30 pm. A reception immediately following the service.

Boundary Training
On November 6, 2007 the Church and Ministry Team passed a motion to require all Authorized Ministers (ordained, licensed, commissioned ministers) holding standing in the Northwest Ohio Association, Ohio Conference, UCC to attend boundary training every three years to maintain standing. Dates and locations are as followed: 9:30 am – 2:30 pm

21st Annual Meeting in Cleveland

Greetings to you. This is a chance to visit the United Church of Christ national offices in Cleveland, Ohio. We encourage you to put the dates March 27th through March 30th, 2008 on your calendar, and to begin planning on attending the UCCOSSN meeting at the Church House in Cleveland.
Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Kathryn Huey, Minister for Covenantal Stewardship. The theme of the meeting will be “Tending God’s Garden – God Works Wherever We Work.”
We will inform you as soon as the on-line registration becomes available. The registration fee (which covers all program materials and 6 meals) will be $100. Perhaps funding sources can be found through women’s groups, individuals within the congregation, etc.

Faith Community Nursing is a recognized specialty practice that combines professional nursing and health ministry. The practice of faith community nursing emphasizes health and healing within a faith community. The four major components of the philosophy of faith community nursing include: spiritual formation, professionalism, health and wholeness and community. The Congregational Nurse Project of Northwest Ohio is
offering this five-day basic educational course to prepare nurses to deliver wholistic health care to members of a faith community.
