Rev. Arnold Meckstroth, St. Marys, OH was in the hospital for blood clots in his leg but is back home now. Please remember Arnold in your prayers.
Rev. Gale Green’s mother, Bonna Bodosi is not doing well. The family is planning to have her moved from the hospital back to the nursing home where she will begin Hospice Care. Please keep Bonna, Rev. Gale, and all the family in prayer during this difficult time.
Marie Wharton, Licensed Lay Minister at Calvin UCC in Toledo is recovering from a broken leg. Please keep Marie in your prayers.
UCC 50th Anniversary Year-end Celebration – All Saints Sunday, November 4
The year long 50th anniversary celebration of the United Church of Christ ends on Sunday, November 4th. A number of items related to the completion of the 50th Anniversary celebration on November 4th are now available on the UCC website (www.ucc.org). Simply click the red 50th anniversary logo on the UCC home page. Included is information about the November 4th webcast, to be broadcast at 7 p.m. EST; a bulletin insert for use in local churches which extends an invitation to UCC members and friends to tune in to the webcast, and worship resources for use in local churches on November 4th.
Installations Scheduled
Rev. David Borden will be installed as Pastor at the dual charge of St. John’s UCC-Baseline and College Hill UCC – Bloomville on November 18, 2007 at 3:00 pm. The installation will be held at College Hill UCC, 7632 St. Rt. 4, Bloomville. All clergy who attend please bring your robe and wear red stoles.
Rev. Mary Curtis will be installed as Chaplain at Fairhaven Community in Uppers Sandusky, OH beginning at 3:00 pm.

Rev. Jeanette Tangeman has been meeting with a group of Parish Nurses here in our area which is assisting a new Parish Nurse program in the New Orleans area. Timely Topics - November 14 - Back Bay Mission - Rev. Dr. Roger Perl
Back Bay Mission, Biloxi, Mississippi is a community ministry of the United Church of Christ. This workshop will endeavor to tell you the Back Bay Mission story – past and present. It is a story of emergency assistance to the needy, affordable housing, advocacy, homeless ministry and work camping. It is a story of the 85 year ministry on the Gulf Coast. Of significance is the post-Katrina effort.

is the Back Bay Mission Development Associate for Ohio. He has a long
history with the mission and a passion to tell the story of the importance
of this program.

First United Church of Christ in Fremont is celebrating its 150th anniversary in November. On Saturday November 3rd at 6:00pm we are having a potluck and time of reminiscing by looking at photos and hearing some of the history of the church. At 10:00am on Sunday November 4th we will have our regular worship service remembering past saints of the church and receiving an update on the current capital campaign. On Sunday November 4th at 3:00pm we will have our anniversary worship celebration with Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio, president of Heidelberg College, as the guest speaker and former pastors participating in the service. Rev. Dan Busch and our organist Linda Bell will be playing several piano/organ duets during both worship services, and there will be special music by the church choirs. Election Day Lunch and Supper – November 6th
Come to the Election Day Lunch and Supper at Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville on Tuesday November 6 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Menu will consist of Sloppy Joes, Chicken, Hot Dog, and Coney Dog sandwiches along with Chili and Chicken Soup and home made pies. How can you resist this temptation of not having to cook and enjoy the day out after you have voted. Proceeds will go towards repairing of the church roof.

OHIO CONFERENCE SENIOR HIGH FALL YOUTH EVENT 2007 - We're coming home! The annual Fall Youth Event will be back at Pilgrim Hills on November 16 - 18, 2007. We'll begin with registration at 7:00 p.m. and the program starting at 9:00 p.m. The event ends with worship on Sunday morning - please plan to stay til the end! Four musical groups will play in two venues - Andra Moran and Ben Harper; Jimmy Dean, Michael, and Eric Abalos; Sheltered Reality; and Regis Jones. Saturday options will include Bible Storytelling, Labyrinth, Games, Open Art Studio; Journaling and Meditation as well as the musical venues. TEETER TOTTER MARATHON AT FYE 2007 TO BEGIN A MARATHON YEAR FOR OUTDOOR MINISTRIES - To celebrate this special anniversary year -- 2007 celebrates 50 years of the UCC, 50 years of Pilgrim Hills and Templed Hills, and 30 years of Fall Youth Event -- the youth at FYE 2007 will be participating in a teeter totter marathon from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Churches can participate by pledging to their youth attending, or by pledging to the marathon being held at the event. All funds raised will be given to Outdoor Ministries of the Ohio Conference. This will be the kick-off of a year of marathons for Outdoor Ministries. The youth at FYE will be sharing in ways to have a marathon during the year, and churches are encouraged to have their youth participate in a similar way. The marathon year will end at FYE 2008. Watch for more information on the Ohio Conference web site. An offering will be taken at FYE on Sunday morning also to be given to Outdoor Ministries.
