John and Joyce Gilberg ask for prayers
Leonidas our interpreter in El Salvador and his wife are in need of prayer. She is in grave danger because of eating contaminated pork.
“I have my wife at a hospital since May 5th because she is suffering of a severe crisis; she has a parasite in her bloodstream at a high concentration level, called cysticercoids. The doctors say is produced by the consumption of infected pork meat. Today I was with her at the hospital because she was going to have an ultrasonography of her brain to detect if the parasite has made calcifications on it. I am pretty nervous about what will happen because she doesn’t feel well at all and she’s looking really bad. I was about to write you since some days ago to ask you to put her under your congregation prayers. I am sure of the prayer power and that your constant relation to the Almighty God will be very powerful in this situation. Please John, share this note with all the friends. With friendship and faith. Leonidas “

Friends,
Below are the details of the Bridge Coffee House this summer at the Oasis on West Elm United Church of Christ in Lima, OH. Some of you came last year and enjoyed it and I wanted to invite you again. Please feel free to share this information with others and mark your calendar for Thursday, June 21, 2007 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Blessings and Peace,
Jim Oates
The third season of the Bridge Coffee House is on its way! I wanted all of you to be the first to hear about this summer's Bridge schedule. Like last summer, the Bridge will run on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 10pm starting on June 21 with Jim Boedecker - back by popular demand.
Last year was a great way to relax, enjoy some coffee, conversation, and a nice evening out. This year will promise to be the same with some added bonuses. This year we will relocate the Bridge into the new renovated Parlor and the yard off of Elm street. With Pastor and other church men at the grill, this season promises to be fun for all ages. For those of you with children, we will be offering free childcare in our crib room for our little angels. There is also a fenced in play yard in the rear of the church. Our caretakers in the crib room will be certified babysitters and will be supervised by an adult at all times.
The dates of the Coffee House are as follows: June 21, 28 July 12, 19, 26 August 2, 9, 16
Nu-Vizion UCC, Toledo Summer Program
Dear Friends,
Summer is fast approaching! We are in the midst of planning our kids summer program for 2007. Like last year's this program will be in essence a 10-week long VBS! Unlike last year we've moved to two days per week and are ahead of the curve in our planning.
We will be providing children's programming for ages 3 (or potty trained) through 12th Grade graduates, in a rotation style VBS model beginning June 12th and continuing every Tuesday and Thursday, 1-4pm until August 16th. Each days programming will include a simple meal, bible lesson, craft, games, music/drama and a closing time.
We will be dividing the children into age groups that rotate through lesson, craft, game and music stations. Accordingly, we are seeking volunteers to provide small group shepherding, volunteers to assist at the stations, volunteers to spend time with adults and their children under 3 from the neighborhood in the "Adult Lounge" while their older children are involved in the program, volunteers to assist with craft preparation in advance of the summer, volunteers to assist with meal preparation....in short...VOLUNTEERS!
Ideally, volunteers are adults (over 18 years of age) although mission trip participants will also assist in the programming under adult supervision. If you would be willing to help us with our summer program, for a day, a week, another block of time, or even, for the entire 10 weeks please respond by email to nuvizionoffice@sbcglobal.net or by phone to Nu-Vizion at 419-241-9358.
God's Grace and Peace, Kathryn Helleman
