NWOA Friends,

As fall semester nears its end, I pause in the spirit of Thanksgiving to express my gratitude to the Northwest Ohio Association for the scholarship money I received this fall for my seminary education. The dollars I received helped offset the cost of staying on campus several nights each week.  I am so thankful for the variety of ways the UCC has supported me and I pray that God will continue to bless the Northwest Ohio Association. Thank you so much!  In Christ, Becky McKibben

News from Tracy Hughes  Nov. 12, 2006

Hello Everyone,

You might be hearing in the news that Kinshasa is under tension and violence. That much is true however, it seems contained. Today we were able to go to a rural community near Kinshasa for worship service and a short meeting with women. When we arrived back to the guest house we were informed that there are still high tensions in the city center and anti-white or foreign rhetoric.

Today will be our second day of confinement at the guest house as a result of concerns for safety. We are well. It is a typically hot and muggy Kinshasa day! Tomorrow is our last day here before traveling to Uganda, which will take the entire day on Tuesday. I hope all of you are enjoying the changing weather from fall to the cold of winter. Peace, Tracy

Winter Break All-Niter regional youth event will be Sunday, January 14, 2007 from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at the Celina YMCA.  Rev. Darryl Kistler, Heidelberg College Campus Minister will be the keynote speaker during late night worship.  Registration materials will be mailed out soon.

Leadership Empowerment Day will be held on Sunday, February 25, 3007 at Oasis on West Elm UCC, Lima, and will include helpful workshops, worship, a resource store, networking and fellowship.
