THIRSTING FOR GOD IN YOUR LIFE—CONNECTING IN THE SPIRIT

“Praying the Scriptures”  THURSDAY, JUNE 8, 2006, 7pm

St. Paul United Church of Christ, 101 S. Perry St., Wapakoneta, OH 45895  419-738-2215

Rev. Jeanette Tangeman (retired pastor of Buckland UCC), is presenting an opportunity for people of faith to come together for an evening and learn how to “Chew on the Bread of the Word.”  As a member of the ecumenical Spirituality Network, based in Columbus, OH, Jeanette is participating in the celebration of their 20th anniversary by presenting a program on the spiritual discipline of  “Praying the Scriptures.”  This is an evening right in our own neighborhood for people from any of our community churches to learn together the traditional practice of reading Scripture and letting God speak to you through the Word.  Come to learn how to read and meditate on any text of Scripture so that you become more aware of how God is acting in your life this very moment.

This evening will be both a “how to and why” session, as well as an opportunity for you to practice on a short text.  So bring the Bible translation of your choice and join your brothers and sisters in Christ as we connect in the Spirit.  This is absolutely non-denominational, not a study of any kind, but simply meant to give you another wonderful way in which to connect very personally with God.  It is an invitation to rest near the heart of God and remind you of the way in which God’s love sustains you every moment of your life.
