Rev. Daniel Busch  will be preaching at St. John’s UCC in Genoa on this Sunday, April 23 for their 8:15  and 10:30 am services. Dan will also be preaching at St. Paul UCC in Wapakoneta on April 30, 8:15 am and 10:15 am. (The morning after the Annual Meeting)

 

  Recognition Service at Haskins Federated Church (This Sunday)

  In Care Student – Jennifer Jackson was called to Haskins Federated Church as Pastor and will

 Celebrate with a Recognition Service on April 23 at 3:00 pm at the church.  All are welcome!

 

Installation Service

The installation service for Rev. Brad McKibben will be May 21st at Trinity UCC in Upper Sandusky.

 

Farewell Gathering

A Farewell Gathering for Rev. Karla Frost, St. John’s UCC, Bucyrus will take place on Sunday, April 23, beginning with worship at 10:30 am followed by a potluck dinner.  All are welcomed! 

 

Lay School Graduation

All are invited to the Lay School Graduation on May 20, at St. Paul UCC, New Bremen. Ms. Terri Goodwin from St. Paul UCC will be graduating with the worship celebration beginning at 5:00 pm followed by a dinner at 6:00 pm.   Cost is $7.  Please register at the Association Office 419-447-8323 and pay at the door.

 

Have You Registered?

The Annual Meeting of the Northwest Ohio Association will take place on April 29th at St. Paul UCC in Wapakoneta.  Call the Association Office to register 419-447-8323. On this day, 3 persons will be approved for Ordination, the Association business will take place and disaster kits will be boxed. Also, the Installation of our new Association Minister, The Rev. Daniel Busch will be on the agenda beginning at 3:00 pm. Please prepare to take place in the Installation by bringing a banner from your church to carry in the processional as the Installation celebration begins. Also participants are welcome to join in a Mass Choir for the Installation Service. Music selections include:

Christians, We Have Met to Worship by Lloyd Larson and Grace by Carolyn Hamlin. The director will be Wendy Schlenker and the accompanist, Karen Joseph. Mass Choir participants are asked to rehearse ahead of time. If music is needed, please call the Association office at 419-447-8323. Please bring your own robe and register on the form included in the mailing materials. All Authorized Ministers are invited to be robed with red stoles.   Information and registration is available on the web page www.nwoa.org

 

Disaster Kits gathered at the Spring Meeting:

1800 clean up kits have already been send to help with the disaster response teams working in Miss. and Louisiana, but many more are needed.

 

Personal Care Kit – a bar of soap, a wash cloth and hand towel, a disposable razor, a small container of shave cream, six band-aids, a tooth brush, a small tube of tooth paste, a comb, a small container of deodorant, a nail file, a personal note.

 

Clean-up Kit – A large container of Clorox Cleanup disinfectant cleaner, a scrub brush, a wire, metal cleaning brush, a pair of rubber gloves, a large heavy duty sponge, some plastic trash bags, a common household bucket, a personal note.

 

Parking for the Annual Meeting at St. Paul UCC in Wapakoneta

Map & directions to St. Paul can be found on their website, www.stpaulucc.com.

The church is on the corner of Mechanic and South Perry Streets. 45 spaces, are available around the church, including handicap, behind the church. Borrowed spaces for the day are as followed:

          City Engineering Office directly across S. Perry Street

Telephone Service Company lot 1/4 block further north on S. Perry Street

Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home lot on Blackhoof Street (unless they have a funeral)

Ron Spencer Real Estate on Blackhoof Street (afternoon only)

Municipal lot on north side of Main Street

 

All of the above are within sight of the church and will be marked by either a white with red lettering St. Paul UCC sign and/or a UCC Logo. Some on-street parking is available. Plus a large lot may be found one block to the east by the Auglaize County Courthouse.  

 

Guests please DO NOT PARK in the Auglaize County Library lot across Mechanic Street.

 

Also, the Sanctuary and Ed Wing are handicap accessible. However, nearest handicap accessible rest rooms are across the street at First English Lutheran Church.

Prayer Requests

Jean Hunt, the wife of Rev. David Hunt is in need of prayer as she is waiting for a kidney donor at this time.  Jean is doing well through this process.

 

Please continue praying for the father of Rev. Scott Johnson, St. John’s UCC-Kenton during this time of recovery. He has returned home but is in a very weak condition.

 

Rev. John Fleming of Indiana is in need of your prayer.  Please remember John and his family.

 

Pat Danner (Licensed Minister at Second UCC, Tiffin) and her family needs continued prayer due to family illnesses. Her son, has had health issues, her husband is having health issues and Pat had eye surgery on both eyes at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin.

 

Dick Adam, custodian here at NWOA is recovering from a stroke.  Please keep him in your prayers.
