REVISITING,
REVIVING and RENEWING THE CALL A Day of
Reflection and Recommitment for licensed, lay and ordained ministers serving
Northwest Ohio Association will take place on Thursday, February 23 (next week)
from 10 – 4 pm at First UCC in
Findlay. Cost is $10 which will pay for lunch and the
speaker, Rev. Bill Barndt. Bill will be sharing astute thoughts on the nature of
ministry and ways of keeping alive a joyful sense of adventure. A Service of
Re-Commitment and Holy Communion will conclude the day together. You may
register with the flyer in the monthly mailing or by emailing
joan@nwoa.org and paying at the door.
To keep faith with the call, ministers of NWOA need spiritual refreshment
and encouragement. Come enjoy the

Annual Meeting in
the Planning –
April 29, 2006
The Annual Meeting of the Northwest Ohio
Association will take place on April 29th at The St. Paul UCC in
Wapakoneta. On this day, 3 persons will be approved for
Ordination, the Association business will take place and the Installation of our
new Association Minister, The Rev. Daniel Busch will be on the agenda. Please
prepare to take place in the Installation by bringing a banner from your church
to carry in the processional as the Installation celebration begins.

Tom Paton Award
will be presented at the Ohio Conference Annual Gathering on June 16 -17 at
Heidelberg
College.
A Form has been sent to all persons receiving the Monthly mailing.
Please remember if your church is applying for the award to send a letter
outlining the things your congregation has done and intends to do with the
completed form to the Association Office. The Witness and
Proclamation Ministry Team would like to receive this form and letter by March 1
if at all possible.
Tom Paton award deadline has changed. Please get them to the
office by March 1, 2006.
This award is given out every 2 years at the Ohio Conference Gathering in
June. (Make sure you include your letter with application)

a central data base maintained by The Ohio Conference.
The United Church of Christ Office
Support Staff Network (UCCOSSN) Gathering
will take place on
April 27-30, 2006
in Cleveland
at the Church House. This event will begin on Thursday evening at
7:00 pm
with Registration and Ice Cream Social on the 9th Floor Conference
Room of Church House. Friday will include, Breakfast, Welcome, Morning Worship
with Cally Rogers-Witte. As the weekend continues, workshops, business meeting,
worship with Rev. Make Milligan, Dinner with Sacred Dancing, Photo Session, free
time will all be part of the agenda. Register online by

Summer Travel to
Turkey
A group from Sylvania UCC will be traveling
to
Turkey
this summer from June 16 – 30. The trip will include encounters with the Islamic
culture and Christian history as well as the beauty and charm of modern and
ancient
Turkey.
Visits will be made to sites of the earliest Christian communities and the
glories of the Byzantine
Empire. We will also
visit with Global Partner missionaries currently serving in
Istanbul.
We will stay in good quality, family owned hotels and travel by bus and plane
over the two weeks. Travel in
Turkey
is safe and inexpensive! The total cost of the trip will be between $3,000 and
$3,500 per person. This will include hotel costs, almost all meals, entrance
fees to museums, and all tips. This price also includes the estimated cost of
airfare to
Turkey
and back to the
US,
but those reservations will have to be made by individual travelers. To get more

Hurricane Relief to New Orleans
On July 19-15, 2006 The Rev. Jeanette and
Mr. Terry Tangeman will lead a trip to
New Orleans
for Hurricane Relief. This trip is organized and facilitated by Rev. Alan Coe,
on site coordinator for the United Church of Christ. Clean
up, repair and construction of damaged churches and homes will be on schedule.
Cost is $50 per person for the week (staying at Good Shepherd UCC) plus
cost of transportation (drive/carpool) and food (will cook our own there).
