The
Vine -- September 29, 2004
Sunday
is World Wide Communion,
a day when we lift up the bond that we share with other Christians in our
communities and around the world.We
remember the brokenness of our world. We
also celebrate the potential for wholeness that comes from our common faith
in Jesus Christ.May each of you
and your local church feel God’s blessing this Sunday.

Hurricane
Relief Update
There
are several options to assist with those dealing with the aftermath of
the Hurricanes:
-
Financial donations. This
allows those closest to the situation to respond to the greatest need. Churches
can send their money to the Association Office. It
can be designed as Hurricane relief – in this case it will go to Church
World Service who will distribute it as needed. It
can also be designed for a specific Conference who is working with a disaster
plan (such as the Florida Conference or the Ohio Conference).
-
Clean-up kits and Personal Care Kits. These
are in great need!!! Below
is the list of what is needed (it is also posted on the Association website
at nwoa.org). Please remind
folks of the importance of the quality of the Clean-up Kits. When
dealing with flood clean-up, the scrub brushes need to be sturdy and the
recommended cleaner is Clorox 2 (not only do cheap cleaners not work, they
freeze and split in freezing temperatures because of the water content). Our
closest storage area for kits is in Lima. If
you have kits ready, contact Larry or Lori Creeger at 419-649-7368.
