Although we are small in number, we are mighty in faith and action. Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside, Bellevue, celebrated its 175th Anniversary on September 18, 2005 with a special worship service. (Coincidentally it was also Pastor Candy Thomas' 60th birthday. The choir and congregation surprised her by singing "Happy Birthday" during worship.)
    It is awe-inspiring to realize that, by the grace of God, the church has persevered in the same place over such a long period of time. Though there have been changes in many things, including  the buildings housing the congregation and church name, church members remain committed to faithful discipleship. There is an openness to listening to the voice of our Still-speaking God and discerning what we are called to do in faithful response.

       We look forward to the future, aware that there is much work to be done in the world, trusting in God's steadfast love to help us respond as the body of Jesus Christ
